While waiting for Dan Mullen to take the podium in the writers’ room, here are a few more news items from across the conference:

1. The website OutKickTheCoverage.com reports that NCAA investigators were in Montgomery, Alabama asking questions about Cam Newton, Stanley McClover and the Auburn football program.

2. ABC/ESPN have released their announcer pairings.

3. Arkansas defensive end Tenarius Wright says Alabama is already on the Hogs’ minds.

4. While Jeff Demps is expected to return at Florida, Neiron Ball will not play in the fall.

5. Mark Bradley of The AJC praises Mike Slive for laying out potential solutions to the problems facing college sports.

6. Tailback Ken “Boo” Malcome is ready for his chance at Georgia.
