Receiver Kwinton Smith Headed To South Carolina

South Carolina has received a commitment from wide receiver Kwinton Smith from Dillon (S.C.) High School.

Smith gave his pledge to the Gamecocks on Wednesday during an unofficial visit to Columbia.

“It came down to my close relationship with the coaches at South Carolina,” Smith told ESPN.com. “It’s also close to home for my family and parents. South Carolina is home to me.”

Smith’s list of offers included Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

Smith is South Carolina’s 11th commitment for the 2012 class. He’s the first receiver to commit to South Carolina, which could also land receiver Jody Fuller when he announces his decision on Friday.
