I remember visiting Jacksonville a few years ago and watching the Tide get their lunch handed to them by FSU and you are right I absolutely hate that crap. A few times is OK but jeesh do they wear that out by halftime. Then again, it sickens me to see all the LSU fans constantly bowing like a bunch of Chinese monks every five minutes as well. I guess all the schools have some irritating nitch to them.

The board of regents met to all vote Yea and be present for a formal meeting. Then about 30 minutes later it was offical that Nebraska was moving to the Big 10. A&M to the SEC is definitely happeneing. It wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't going to occur.

As everyone has established, the conference won't vote to add someone unless there is a guarantee that it will bring in more $$$. In this day and age, I can't imagine new schools actually approving a deal to jump ship unless they have a black and white contract in front of them explicitly informing them of how much money the vote is worth. Atleast that's if I'm a board member. It would be like going into business with other people under the agreement that money would be worked out later. TERRIBLE IDEA.. In order for invitations to be handed out, wouldn't preliminary TV negotiations have to be worked-up with the SEC's additional value in place before everyone was willing to form a bond? Perhaps that is what Mike and and his boys are doing this very second? But then again I grew up in the Ozark Mountains. Is anyone familiar with how voting/negotiating for Colorado/Utah to Pac 12 or Nebraska to BIG went down?

That is part of what they will be discussing on Sunday. Adding TAMU will add X amount to the bottom line. There might not be a second school (if any) announced next week. TAMU is a no brainer and came out of no where this past week. However only Slive knows what other schools are interested and who is able to jump right now.

ESPN and CBS will be gaining a tremendous market in Texas alone. That means more advertising dollars for them. Of course, that adds two teams to split the SEC TV revenues and I don't think anyone(in the SEC) would even consider the possibility if it doesn't bring in more money to the table. End of the day, nobody feels sorry for A&M, they were given a chance last year to come and they decided to go back to suckling on the tit of Texas. I don't believe for one second they are coming though. I believe it is a big ploy to get the longhorns network dropped or a few more dollars thrown their way.

They might do another 'look in' and say, good teams, $18M is a lot of money. Even though it would put a strain on the partnership, ESPN might not want to set a precedence and see what kind of money the SEC can get from the rights of just two teams. What I just wrote is probably one hundred percent wrong and Slive has already asked if these two teams will force a renegotiation, however, people assume stuff all the time. Like how the price of homes always go up.
