Go ahead and call it the “Hot Seat Bowl.” Ole Miss versus Georgia. Houston Nutt versus Mark Richt.
Georgia’s coach blew off that moniker today when asked about it. According to Marc Weiszer of The Athens Banner-Herald, UGA’s coach said he “knew that was going to happen” and that “a couple of kindergartners” could have come up with that name.
Meanwhile, Nutt talked about the heat Richt is facing — as well as the pressure he’s under — heading into Saturday’s game:
“If you look at his record and how well he has done, there should never be a question. That is not the world in which we live. There are going to be questions. The bottom line is this: ‘Did you win the last game?’ We didn’t. That’s the water that you’re in and the water’s going to be hot. You’ve got to accept it, but it does surprise me. Not much, but a little.”
Whoever loses on Saturday will feel the water they’re floating in turned up to a boil.
