Just a few more headlines on Tennessee’s hiring of Dave Hart — an Alabama grad an Tide assistant AD until yesterday — as the school’s newest athletic director:
1. Folks at UT are calling Hart the final piece of the puzzle.
2. How did Tennessee lure Hart away from his alma mater? Try a salary of $775,000 a year.
3. Hart had a prickly parting of ways from Florida State back in 2007, but it hasn’t hurt his reputation.
4. Derek Dooley had the following to say about his new boss: “The think I obviously love about Dave is that he’s been around big-time college football at Florida State and Alabama. He knows what a football program needs, the support that we need and that is going to be very appreciated when he bring it to us. (Nick) Saban had nothing but good things to say about him, and that’s good enough for me.”
5. Ah, but not all Vol fans like hiring a man from Bama.
