One loss is in the books — to a Top 5 team — and many Georgia fans aren’t happy about it. But AD Greg McGarity isn’t ready to bring down the curtain on Mark Richt’s tenure just yet. Asked is he expects the Dawgs to perform better this week against South Carolina, McGarity said:
“I’m not going to get into the trap of making statements like that. It’s a no-win situation. I would just say that you evaluate things every week and so you take it one week at a time. …
I know there’s a level of frustration and disappointment. But it’s not any different from what we’re feeling inside the building. What you can’t do is dwell on it. You can’t let one loss turn into two losses mentally. You can’t let one loss define your season. You’ve got to move forward.”
For the sake of calming the fanbase, Richt needs to move forward with a win against Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks on Saturday.
