Really guys..??? Is everyone who commented on this issue above, a holy roller, or some ultra conservative extremist??!! He drank a bit.. Who cares about a 22 year old having a few drinks?? I mean really.. Its NOT wrong to have a few drinks!! Also, his grandmother just passed.. Everyone has different ways of grieving! As for smoking pot.. Well, first I want to make this very clear.. Marijuana is NOT physically addicting!! So dont call him an addic because you're judging a book by its cover!! You dont know everything that went down, or the situation!! Its not like he was shooting heroine! Pot is not a "drug"!! I do realize its illegal, but dang guys.. Pot just relaxes your mind a bit, especially in stressful situations! Not everything is black and white, when it comes to bring right and wrong! Im glad, and proud to have grown up in the "Bible belt", well most of the time.. A lot of people have very strong opinions about issues, and that's fine.. But one of the reasons I do very much dislike growing up and living in the "Bible belt" is the fact that a lot of people are very judgmental! They also ignorant when it comes to such things, like pot!! Please grow up guys! Sorry, Im just on one of my soap boxes

Spurrier didn't pull the trigger. He was told Garcia was gone by the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR after failing a UA that was part of the deal…Spurrier had NO SAY in Garcia eligiblibility – only the AD and the President. Don't let the facts get in the way Dawg.

why would he, SOS let him do whatever he wanted with zero consequences for 4 years… and if Garcia hadn't been playing so bad, I bet SOS would be letting him slide on this as well

I think he's more of a A-hole who thought he could get away with anything b/c SOS had his back… and why wouldn't he think that after the last 4 years or walking all over SOS and suffering ZERO consequences

He could have taken it easy for a while this year and laid off the booze and weed, but he figured SOS would let him slide like he did for the last 4 years

Spurrier just finally gave up that he'd ever be a good QB. Because even with failed drug tests or whatever, if Garcia had been playing well he'd still be starting on that team. This was more about Garcia sucking than his "substance abuse" problem… b/c he's been doing this for 4 years with no consequence. The only thing that changed was SOS finally decided he sucks

Garcia could do anything he wanted… as long as he wasn't terrible on Saturday. I guess even the Ole Ball Coach came to realize how bad Garcia was at playing QB

Boo Hoo… I lost my grandmother, grandfather, father, and great uncle during college. I still didn't smoke or drink myself to the point of oblivion. I'm not trying to downplay his loss, but it is what it is. He's an addict and he needs help. Life is only going to get worse after college.

Garcia had been suspended on five previous occasions so obviously, this was a long time coming. Also, who really believes for a second that Spurrier would’ve pulled the trigger if Connor Shaw hadn’t played so well against Kentucky?
