ESPNU’s latest “Storied” documentary on the SEC focuses on the league’s first championship game which was played in 1992. At a site called MrSEC.com, we obviously understand just how big a role the SEC’s title game has played in the transformation of college football, athletic conferences and television contracts.
Still, this trailer might be just a hair over the top.
The show itself looks like it will be great. No question about that one. Bringing the old players back together for a reenactment of the game’s key play is brilliant.
But world-changing? I’m guessing a few more folks remember Bill Clinton, Kurt Cobain, Rodney King and the LA riots than SEC Championship Game #1. Folks outside Alabama and Florida at least.
