Ole Miss cant afford Leach. He was getting 4.2 a year from TT. No way he will come to Ole Miss…. He has a better chance elsewhere. I don't think you could throw any amount of money at him. If you brought Saban in on a 10 year 50mil with 100% guaranteed, he would decline. It's not about the money. Ole Miss – Where good coaches careers come to die.

A newsman in NW Arkansas who saw the truth about Nutt before the other media said the other day that dividing the fan base was what he had against Nutt and he is already doing it at Ole Miss…he has a few donors in his pocket and is stirring the opposition to Boone. Nutt will throw anyone under the bus to save himself, including his own players. There is a reason Arkansas fans call him the Quarterback Killer. My sympathies to our SEC cousins in Mississippi. Six million is a small price to pay to rid yourselves of this cancer. At a distance, it is fun to watch him making a fool of himself.

It wouldn't scare me at all to face Leach. From a purely football perspective he could help Ole Miss by helping them make more of the lesser talent they recruit much like he did at Texas Tech.

From a personnel perspective though it would be a definite culture clash with the Ole Miss people. Leach is a strange bird. He didn't fit in that well at Texas Tech either and from what I've heard they wanted to fire him early on, but he kept winning and they couldn't justify it. The same thing might happen at Ole Miss, but I think sooner or later it will turn into a huge mess.

It would be just like Boone to try and hire Mike Leach, who is not a fit for OM for a number of reasons. The bigger problem is Boone.

It is common knowledge throughout coaching circles that no one will take the job as long as Boone is there. Keep Boone hold the program back. Look at him, John Shafer, Warner Alford you see pitiful results since the 70's…..See ya Petey….

I read a Mike Leach quote outlining the type of program he’d want to coach. One of the three things he mentioned was stable administration. There is anything but that in Oxford.

He’s complaining about this and next year’s schedule, but doesn’t mention his second cotton bowl 9 win season he played SE Louisiana, N Arizona, Memphis, and UAB. One fourth of his regular season wins were FCS teams.

I’d be willing to bet he would have been better this year if he’d spent last year getting Mackey adjusted to big boy football instead of bringing in that thug for one year.

I’ll be fine with Boone hiring another coach for them… Wonder if Orgeron is busy?

Yeah, I also think Boone will fire Nutt in order to help his own cause. If he does hire Leach though then I think he'll be gone sooner than later though. I don't see Leach fitting in at all in Oxford. That's a disaster waiting to happen whether they have a little success initially or not.
