Let's review this situation….

The kid is "suspended" (What exactly does that mean at South Carolina????) 5 times yet never misses a game. When he starts to officially suck, Spurrier benches him. Then he gets tested for alcohol and fails the test. But Spurrier doesn't dismiss him then. He waits to see how Conner Shaw performs. When Shaw excels, Spurrier then releases him. He's released 7 days AFTER his failed test. So how many random tests came before this? Or was this the first since Garcia no longer could throw the ball?

If he's an alcoholic, Spurrier is the enabler.

You really can't lose playing time at SC due to off the field transgressions. (Remember the "suspended" players allowed to play vs. ECU? ECU didn't allow their DUI's to play…Spurrier did)

He ran the ball with reckless abandon for the sake of his team. For that I will always respect him as a quarterback. I hope he can find a place somewhere doing the thing he loves.

The Gamecock Nation wishes Garcia well. There is no need to mock or trivialize the struggles of this young man. We only hope and wish he turns his life around for the sake of himself and his child.

I, for one, will miss Stephen Garcia. He is one of the biggest reasons for Auburn's success over the last two seasons.

I, for one, am glad that the Stephen Garcia "drama" can begin to subside. One less headache.
