I have to imagine that if you are going to lie about a player's status to keep him out of game that you would at least lie about him being injured. If a player is suspended for rules violations then that makes the player look bad. If I was a player and suspended for not doing anything then I would be pissed.

Well Houston, you've apparently been punk'd.

How exactly is suspending 4 of your best players for the match-up against Alabama "punishment" rules violations? Aren't you actually rewarding these 4 selfish bozos and punishing the guys that have to fill in for them? These guys get to sit out the buttkickin' brusin' bash on Saturday.

Is it possible that "rules violations" is the code word for not letting 4 important or banged up guys suit up against a devastating defense? This way the important don't get injured and the lame get to heal.

I'm sure that any given moment of any given day, a player can be dinged for violating team rules. Maybe this way, Coach Nutt has found a way to preserve some honor in those not playing and in essence taking a (or being forced to take) a sick day. Honestly, Ole Miss stands a much better chance at sneaking a win against a storied rival next week while hosting (a rested) Arkansas than they do hosting a steam rolling Tide team this weekend.

I can't imagine this will actually make a bit of difference in the game's outcome. So they lose by 30 instead of 24? I think at this point, Ole Miss should be making some long term decisions for the program.
