When Arkansas freshman Marquel Wade apologized earlier this week for a hit that left him suspended, a number of people pointed out that his apology was to his program and Razorback fans… not to Vanderbilt’s Jonathan Krause, the player he hammered with a helmet-to-helmet blow last Saturday.
But Krause says he received an e-apology from both Wade and his mother.
“I got an apology from him and his mom… Facebook, Twitter. It was his mom that sent the letter (via Facebook). It was nice of her to take her time out and send the letter.”
Krause sounds ready to move on from the situation.
“I remember the whole thing. There was no concussion or anything. It was just a hard hit. I’m feeling a lot better. The first thing that came to my mind was, ‘Really? I was nowhere near the ball.’ It is what it is. It happens. It is football, you know?”
