Last year Bret Bielema Wisconsin coach went for two against a hapless Minnesota team . The firestorm that followed lasted two weeks.The most classless act I've seen in college football IMO . Les Miles should be commended for not being just such a butthead.

I haven't always been a Les Miles fan, but he is winning me over. He seems to finally be letting his coaches coach..still not sure I'd feel comfortable with clock management late in a close game, but he is a classy guy and a good family man.

That wasn't a coaching call. Mettenberger checked out of the called play into the bootleg.

I would agree it was a classy move if he hadn't tried to score on a naked bootleg the previous play that got 'em down to the 1 in the first place. He should have been running up the middle with scrubs every play by then. As is, it was rubbing it in more than another TD would have.

he was in a tough spot but prolly wouldve been better just to put the walk ons in and run in it up the middle. I respect what he was trying to do.

I personally would have rather he went on and scored another TD. At least the Rebels would have some motivation next season, something to remember for a long time, something that will make them play harder to never be in that position again. But then again, I guess being insulted this way can also be that same motivation. You knew the Rebels had just quit when LSU ran a bootleg with no problems.

1n 1979, a Steve Sloan led Ole Miss took pity on a winless George MacIntyre team and took a knee at the Vandy 1 rather than putting 70 up on them. I guess what comes around goes around in good ways as well.

Classy is putting in all of your subs but still trying to run some basic plays … classy is taking your starters out in the 3rd quarter when you know you have the game in hand … taking a knee and insulting your opponent by saying that you do not even have to make an effort to keep the game respectable at the end is not what I would call class. If you are going to support taking a knee to give the ball back to your opponent, why not just take the ball and run it all the way down to the other team's end zone to score for them?

It is a bit insulting. IMO only reason to do it is to avoid possible injuries which may be a legit reason.
