Statesman, if I'm not mistaken, random drug tests are scheduled by the NCAA. In this case, I think I read that it was "for cause" drug test meaning that someone in the administration was acting on rumors or suspicions. You can't disprove a negative but this apparently occurred the week before Florida with the lab results taking 5-7 days to process which brings us to the suspension for this weekend.

I seem to remember another coach splitting up suspensions so they weren't all for the same game. Yet this is an issue because …there's suspicion but no evidence of anything…that wouldn't violate any rules even if it were true. Let's go back to allowing players who threaten to kill their girlfriends. Or ignoring players who get to live in luxury $200 hotels for $19 a night. Or Cam. Or suspending Garcia from "practice" five times and considering that a punishment. Get over yourselves.

I don't have a dog in this race but a more this begs a more obvious question. If you suspect or will do a drug test on players, why do it before the New Mexico St. game as oppose to a more competitive opponent. Does Georgia and other teams in the SEC schedule their random drug test before games against the weakest opponent. Just Curious

Auburn doesn't suspend after the first failed drug test? I seem to recall two players that were suspended earlier this year and a certain player that was suspended last year and eventually kicked off the team. If there is any coach that lets his players skate by repeatedly its definately Mark Richt.

He would likely be much more evasive in answering the question. Same with McGarity. They were both very direct and forthright. Coach Richt also has a ten year coaching tenure with no known incidents of duplicitous or unethical behavior. There's no reason not to give him the benefit of the doubt.
