In response to the "who would take THAT job argument," Mississippi State hired Dan Mullen three seasons ago. Dan Mullen was the offensive coordinator of a school which won two national championships in three years, yet he took the job at the crappiest school on the crappiest campus in the crappiest town in the SEC. I don't care how many negatives you can stack against Ole Miss (and there are a few, I'll give you that), becuase for someone who has never been a head coach, it's a very, very attractive job.

I mean SERIOUSLY, what could be a BETTER situation to walk into? Who could IMAGINE a situation MORE CONDUCIVE to waltzing right in and succeeding! Better than Jim Tressel going to a loaded Ohio State team in a down Big 10! Better than Urban Meyer inheriting all those Ron Zook recruits in an SEC East ruled with an iron fist (snicker) by Mark Richt and Phil Fulmer!

I don't know guys. Houston Nutt, despite his flaws, was a proven winner in the SEC. Should have held onto him until the coast got a bit clearer in the SEC West … when that division didn't include the #1, #3 and #8 teams in America plus the defending national champs.
