I have looked at the offensive stats and they appear to favor LSU also. I do understand Sunday's ratings will be very important. Vegasinsider has Oklahom favorite to be National Champs if I read it right and I think I did. I do understand the difference between a Vegas handicapper and the BCS rankings but the Vegas guys have been around a lot longer than the BCS, what say you.

Those are just defensive statistics. They don't reflect offense or special teams. Also, LSU has played a bit tougher schedule to date facing Oregon on a neutral field and West Virginia on the road.

The rankings going into the game don't matter much anyway. It's the rankings come Sunday that will matter.

Given all the above stats, can someone please explain why LSU is ranked No. 1? This is a mystery to me. I do have my favorite but I would like a serious explanation. I am not trying to start any controversy but I guess I just don't understand the BCS ratings like I thought that I did.
