Most people have wanted a playoff system for years. Even if you put 8 teams in, it would only take 3 weekends. We already wait that long to get to the BCS championship game.

I agree, all the national shows I have heard are giving the SEC props and claiming the goal of the BCS is to pair the two best teams in college football and it succeeded in doing that even though it may not be popular to have a rematch.

On one national show a caller was pushing for a playoff and the host told him to be careful for what he wished for and said that if we have a playoff we may have two SEC schools in the championship game every year.

Emmert is a lousy debater. Acting all worried about the potential 16 game scedule when the divisions below as well as all other sports have a playoff system that take extra time. Just another hyocrite on the issue. The bowls will still exist and do even better Emmert. There would be even more excitement and it would take nothing more away from the related student athletes than it does for all of the others.

It's a mess about third of the time, and when it gets it right…it is already no brainer on who should be playing.

I believe they actually got the 2 best teams this time, and if there was a plus one LSU and Bama will still be playing for the championship.

I like the 16 team playoff system myself, seeded using the BCS with automatic bids for conference champs.

Perhaps a bit terse, yet Mark Emmert is a fool. Having watched how he "plays things" over the past 18 months – I'm not sure who is worse, Bud Selig, or Mark E. at "running" their organizations. His "open mouth, insert foot" reign has been pretty comical to watch unfold. Eastern Washington and Appalachian State have certainly voiced their displeasure with "all of the school" that their kids have missed over the years during the FCS playoffs. dws/. Don't you oversee that organization too Mr. E…?

Google "BCS Mess" or cruise by any major newspaper's website and you'll find people claiming that the system is broken. If you aren't seeing or hearing the debate, then you're not paying attention.

"To people outside the South, it’s darn near conniption time." — Not true at all. Everyone on every national show I've heard has said the BCS is designed to match up the two best teams and that's what we have. Who has had a conniption over this?

We have a playoff system in college football right now. It is a one-game playoff. And the two best teams are in it. We are not talking EXPANDING the playoff we already have.
