Of the 25 players selected to the American Football Coaches Association All-American team, nine come from the Southeastern Conference. (Must be more of that pro-SEC bias by the country’s college football coaches.)
For a comparison, here’s the number of All-American from each BCS conference:
SEC — 9
Big Ten — 6
Big 12 — 5
Pac-12 — 3
ACC — 1
Big East — 0
The SEC players who made the squad:
Offense
TE Orson Charles, Georgia
OL Barrett Jones, Alabama
RB Trent Richardson, Alabama
Defense
DL Melvin Ingram, South Carolina
LB Dont’a Hightower, Alabama
LB Jarvis Jones, Georgia
DB Mark Barron, Alabama
DB Morris Claiborne, LSU
DB DeQuan Menzie, Alabma
As you can see, Alabama had five All-Americans, Georgia two, and LSU and South Carolina one each.
