Jordan Jenkins will announce his college decision on Monday night.
The defensive end from Harris County High School in Hamilton, Ga., is considering Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Georgia. His announcement will air live on “The Next Class” on Fox Sports South at 7 p.m. eastern time.
Some have wondered if the timing of the announcement – 90 minutes before the start of the BCS Championship Game – is an indication that Jenkins will choose Alabama. Not so, according to Jenkins’ father.
“Yes, everybody thinks that,” Ronald Jenkins told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’ve heard those rumors, too. Actually, we were supposed to do it Tuesday. Then the network wanted to change it to Monday, not us.”
That’s led to different opinions on which school will land Jordan Jenkins, who’s ranked the No. 5 defensive end in the country by Scout.com.
“We’ll see what happens,” Ronald Jenkins said. “I’m his father and I’m telling 100 percent that I don’t know where he’s going right now. I know where he said he’s leaning … I’ve got a funny feeling that it’s going to be interesting.”
