Memphis Athlete Dawson Likely Headed To Georgia

Memphis (Tenn.) Ridgeway athlete Sheldon Dawson will likely sign with Georgia on Feb. 1.

“I think (Georgia) is where he’s going,” Ridgeway coach Duron Sutton told 247Sports.

Sutton said his belief was that Dawson had informed Georgia coaches of his decision. But Dawson, who has been committed to Memphis since July, said that wasn’t the case when reached via text message by 247Sports.

Ole Miss appears to still be in the picture and could receive an official visit from Dawson this weekend. Either way, Dawson is expected to announce his final decision Monday during a ceremony at his school, according to Sutton.
