He started by suggesting he would be let go… and then he went back into the situation. I was writing as the presser unfolded live. We updated the story in a second post a few minutes later.

Here’s what has happened since the end of the season:
1. A coordinator has left to go back to his home area. Happens at schools across the country and has occurrred at other SEC schools.
2. 3 assistants have left to pursue opportunities closer to home base, again, happens across the country.
3. A player has transferred, got upset when he didn’t get his way before having a dialogue with the coach, and now has a full release. Should’ve been a non-story but it is what it is, and now it’s over.

That’s it. All of this is stuff that happens at every single school in the conference, but because the writer here indeed does have an axe to grind with the university, he makes much more big of a deal than it actually is and creates a false perception about the program. It’s ridiculous and this site deserves to be called out on it.

Actually, I wrote last week that this was a no-win scenario for Dooley and now he’s reversed field. Seems I have a better pulse on what is truly transpiring around the league than you do.
