Brent Pease is set to be introduced as Florida’s new offensive coordinator on Wednesday, according to a report from ESPN.com.
Pease held the same position at Boise State in 2011 after serving as the Broncos’ wide receivers coach from 2007-2010. Pease will replace Charlie Weis, who left Florida in December to become the head coach at Kansas.
Pease was also considered a top target at Alabama, which is looking for a new offensive coordinator after Jim McElwain left to become the head coach at Colorado State.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Dick Koetter is one name to watch at Alabama, according to the ESPN report.
New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer could be another candidate at Alabama. Schottenheimer was considered to be an option at Florida before the Gators landed Pease.
UPDATE – Mark Long of the Associated Press reports Pease will receive a three-year contract worth about $500000 annually.
