You know, I saw Snooki on MTV doing some highly questionale, disgusting things on MTV the other day…she was wearing a LA Lakers Jersey.

Should the Lakers be embarrassed? Should Kobe? Should the city of Los Angeles?

She was also wearing Nike tennis shoes with the big check on them. Should Nike feel embarrassed? Are they officially associated with Snooki.

Penn St. scandal = real scandal b/c it happened within the walls of the institution and university employees condoned it.

Drunk guy wearing a red shirt doing stupid stuff that they do on Bourbon street = Nothing to do with the University, the football team, Alabama fans.

Bingo. Let the punch story go viral and make national headlines and you’ll have LSU with some egg on its face. But one guy punching another? That happens outside a lot of games, unfortunately. Sexual assault on camera… not so much.

This was a classless act by some idiot Bama fans. That doesn’t mean all Bama fans are bad and I certainly didn’t write that. But if people don’t think the University of Alabama president — for example — is embarrassed by this… then they have no touch with reality. Harvey Updyke was a lone idiot, too. Unfortunately, Bama’s making national news again and again thanks to lone idiots.

As for the drunk LSU fan, sure, it serves him right to get drunk. But I’m a more compassionate person than that. I think someone in the room should’ve tried to help the guy… either with a taxi or an ambulance. Leaving him passed out was bad enough, laughing as another guy rubbed his genitals on his face was criminal.

Any Alabama fan who doesn’t grasp these facts must come from another planet.

I’ll agree with you about Bourbon, and I disagree with John about the whole “poor drunk LSU fan” thing…there are no poor drunk LSU fans–really, there are no poor drunk people in general–but especially no poor drunk LSU fans. You pass out in a Bourbon Street Krystal at all, National Championship game or not, and bad things are going to happen to you. “Teabagging” may be a common occurance in Alabama frat houses, but I assure you it is not a common occurance in Arkansas frat houses, having lived in one myself; in fact, it doesn’t happen at all, ESPECIALLY with complete strangers.

Now, should LSU fans feel embarrassment for the actions of 1 random person who happens to wear purple and gold?

First of all, I’m a recent Alabama graduate. Why should I or the university be embarrassed of some random guy that none of us know who just so happens to root for the same team I do. That has to be the stupidest correlation I’ve heard in my life. Why make hasty generalizations about an entire fanbase based on one random guy who happens to be in a crimson shirt. I don’t know him. He has nothing to do with me or my university that I graduated from.

This is a scene played out at frat houses across the country. Also, this is Bourbon Street…it probably wasn’t even the 758th worst thing that happened there…that night.

We’re talking about a place where women flash their breasts for beads…we’re talking about drunk idiots. This feigned outrage is as disgusting as the video…which IS disgusting.

Hard to believe that the most intelligent people in the state of Alabama are on the football team/coaching staff.

And if you tried to do what I do in a day, you wouldn’t utter the word lazy. Mistakes happen and they kill me when they do, but there’s nothing lazy about the number of stories and words you get here each day.
