Alabama Reinstates Green, Suspends Mitchell For Season

Alabama has reinstated forward JaMychal Green and suspended forward Tony Mitchell for the remainder of the 2011-12 season.

The announcement was made Monday.

Green, who leads Alabama with 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, returned to practice on Monday. He isn’t expected to play on Thursday when Alabama (17-9, 6-6 SEC) travels to Arkansas.

Mitchell, Alabama’s second-leading scorer at 13.1 points per game, could return to the team next year as a senior. He promised to return last week when he posted a message on twitter. That will have to wait.
