The word bouncing around Mark Richt’s noggin this morning: Finally.
Five-star Valdosta linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons finally sent in his signed Letter of Intent to Georgia coaches this morning, almost 24 hours after committing to the school live on ESPNU.
Harvey-Clemons’ grandfather had initially disappeared himself so as not to sign the document until the rest of the family could take one last swing at pushing their loved one to Florida instead of Georgia. Didn’t happen. The Peach State’s top-rated player is a Dawg.
The only thing still left to figure out: Did Richt commit a secondary violation by discussing Harvey-Clemons on ESPN after the player committed but before his scholarship papers arrived? By the letter of the law, seems so.
But in most cases, we lean a lot more toward Andy Taylor than we do Barney Fife here at MrSEC.com. If UGA has to file paperwork over this bizarre set of circumstances, the NCAA is killing trees for no reason.
