Clemson continues to make a strong impression on Robert Nkemdiche.
The defensive end from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., will return to Clemson on Monday for a visit along with teammate and close friend David Kamara.
Clemson has continued to be included in Nkemdiche’s list of top five schools, along with Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss. Florida, South Carolina and Florida State have also been mentioned as schools of interest.
And add Vanderbilt to that list. Yes, Vanderbilt. Nkemdiche and Kamara plan to visit the school’s campus on March 24.
That news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Vanderbilt quarterback commit Johnathon McCrary told MrSEC on Feb. 18 that Nkemdiche would take a look at the Commodores.
“(Nkemdiche) said he’s actually interested in Vanderbilt,” McCrary said. “That says a lot about his character.”
Still, Vanderbilt should be considered a longshot at best to land Nkemdiche. But the Commodores could make a push for Kamara, who has picked up offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State in the last week.
Kamara told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Clemson, Arkansas and Florida continue to evaluate him.
