Stallings may care about his players, but he is not a ambassador for the program or a good rep for the university. He continually belittles opposing fans and players while acting like a spoiled child at times. Apparently Franklin has taken lessons. Glad Stallings made the splash this year since his whole team will be gone next year.

There is nobody VU could ever hire that would get more out of his players/administration than Stallings. When there were rumblings a few years ago that he had to make the Dance of get fired, I couldnt believe it. In 20 years, they will be harkening back to the “Stallings years” and players like Shane Foster, Jenkins, etc. Look at what this guy has done the last decade compared to a Ga, MIss State, Ole Miss, S. Carolina, etc. So, he is not Cal and Vandy is not UK. So, who is nationally? There will be a statue outside the gym when he retires.

Great article JP!!! Coach Stallings cares about Vandy and his kids. Taylor, Jenkins and Ezeli could have entered the NBA draft but stayed to win for coach. As a long suffering Vandy fan any type of win is an accomplishment and felt good. UK fans and other SEC fans don’t realize the pain that comes with being the little fish in the ocean that is the SEC. 40 plus years of losing Football, Basketball being average at best, and zero Success in every other sport. Now the Baseball program is a national program, the Basketball program is a consistent winner, and Football has not been an embarrassment as in the past. The thing I’m most proud of is that this was not some fluke victory, Vandy kicked UK’s butts especially in the last 5 minutes, and coach Stalling deserved to be spotlighted as a winner. Thanks again for writing a top notch article!
