Red McCombs (former owner of the Minnesota Vikings and San Antonio Spurs) has publically gone on record as saying that there are a select few (ahem...DeLoss Dodds - t.u. AD) who have their pride hurt over A&M moving to the best conference in America. Mr. McCombs (namesake of their business school and largest individual donor to Longhorn athletics) has definitively stated that the 110+ year history of the rivalry will not permit anything other than a temporary break in the storied tradition.

What generations of Aggies will gladly share with our SEC bretheren is that there are few (if any) other schools with more of an egotistical and over-inflated self image than our in-state buddies in Austin. If you don't believe it, just ask Nebraska, Colorado, or Mizzou!

DeLoss Dodds is offended that we've made a move that is going to adversely affect their program. Their refusal to play A&M is the equivalent of a 5 year old sticking his fingers in his ears, shouting blah, blah, blah, and throwing a temper-tantrum. We really don't mind taking a year or two off to allow DeLoss Dodds' ego time to figure out how to save face.

Thanks again for the wonderful welcome to the SEC. As time will prove, Texas Aggies are going to represent Texas and the SEC well!

A&M took a hit on the shoulder with Texas refusing to play us, but it will happen...

Got a little story for ya Ags and Brothers of the SEC (introduction of every Aggie story at Midnight Yell)
100 years ago exactly, Texas did the same thing by refusing to play us because we played "dirty." Four years later, in 1915, we restarted the series. Egos will always get in the way, but both sides will come together once again. Just because we hate each other, doesn't mean you don't admire something that school has. I hate burnt orange, but playing washers with a fellow UT grad is a lot more fun than playing with a Texas Tech or Baylor Grad.

Thanks and Gig 'em.

Geoff McDorms oh yes you would and you know it. But as a UK fan, I got news for Mr SEC, Joker Phillips may be due for a better season but his team has to earn it like all the rest of the teams that play in this conference and Joker Phillips has to coach them better we flat got out coached in the Vandy game. Instead of improving our lot in the SEC East when it was down, what does he do, he leads our team backwards. Every powerhouse team in the East are down for the last 2-3 years and UK can't make a run? Now you know why UK fans are so pissed. No leadership at the HC position. Anytime you can move up in the SEC you have to take it and what does UK do go backwards. Ugh Ugh Ugh!

"if OSU doesn’t lose to ISU, Bama fans would still be grumbling that Nick Saban had lost two years in a row to LSU" BULL!!

We Bama fans have high standards, but if we had gone 12-1 last year with our only loss by 3 to LSU in OT and ended in the top 5, we wouldn't have grumbled about ANYTHING!!
