It was a day of backtracking, confusion, and debating in Destin yesterday. At least Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel showed a bit of his sense of humor. Discussing the fact that he had to tell his program’s 2012 commitments that they wouldn’t be playing in the Big 12 as initially expected, Pinkel said:

“When would that ever happen to anybody in their career? In the Big 12, it happens about every other year.”

Here’s guessing the SEC’s new bowl partners won’t find that very amusing.
