The one thing that I did not like about joining the SEC is having Frank Martin follow us….he has owned Mizzou over the years. The SEC better get ready, because South Carolina is going to be real good in a couple of years. I have a feeling that he will have a strong train of recruits coming in from south florida and the new york area going right into Columbia South Carolina.

I have about five books on Bryant and respect the heck out of him. Been through the Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa more than once, too.

That said, I’ll always poke a little fun at the way some of us Down South revere coaches and players as gods and saints.

John, I know you were kidding about the Bama fans shedding tears, but we don’t love Coach Bryant blindly. And we don’t love him for the 6 national championships. We love him for his hard work, integrity and class. He made us want to be better people, and a lot of us are because of him.
