I like a good-natured smart aleck comment as much as the next guy. Yours seem to be good-natured.

Or good-N8tured.

About the same way I feel about people who leave smart aleck comments tying to just one part of a much larger story.

Thanks for reading the site,

Apparently folks aren't reading past the first paragraph.

This post is about how the football and basketball schedules were put together... and from what we've heard from the SEC office, it sounds a heckuva lot like groupthink.

This is not solely a post about a 9-game football schedule as we have, in fact, a bigger issue with the hatchet job done in basketball. Football will correct itself eventually, basketball may not.

John,
Maybe Slive and the powers-that-be are just thinking outside the box. Remember the talk of common opponents in the Big 12. That would certainly justify no nine-game schedule!
SEC & Big 12 - Alabama vs. Oklahoma, Arkansas vs. Iowa State, Auburn vs. Oklahoma State, Florida vs. Florida State, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, Kentucky vs. Louisville, LSU vs. TCU, Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech, Mississippi State vs. Kansas State, Missouri vs. Kansas, South Carolina vs. Clemson, Tennessee vs. West Virginia, Texas A&M vs. Texas, Vanderbilt vs. Wake Forest, Baylor

kaput...

Actually, this is about how both formats came to be. It breaks down who was on the transition team and how they formulated their proposals with input from ADs along the way.

If you do not want this new information, that's your choice.
