Texas A&M received a commitment on Thursday from cornerback Noel Ellis from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans.
The Aggies benefited from their presence in the SEC, according to Karr coach Jabbar Juluke.
“(Texas A&M) moving to the SEC really helped out,” Juluke told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “He wanted to play in the SEC.”
Other SEC schools to offer Ellis include Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee. Florida State and Nebraska are two other schools to offer a scholarship.
Ellis gave his commitment to Texas A&M on the same day as cornerback Tavares Garner from Manvel (Texas) High School. Garner had previously been committed to Texas Tech.
“It feels like family here, Garner said of Texas A&M, according to AggieYell.com. “I like that. That was what I was looking for.”
The Aggies have 20 commitments for the class of 2013.
