@John at MrSEC @Gomezzzz Actually, not having the time to watch all these guys up on the stage, this has been a very good review. I don’t get to see these guys very often, and ratings from guys whose job it is to watch them over the years is great.

So I vote you keep the rating system going. Makes what could be a boring recital into something fun to read (and no, not saying your stuff without ratings is like a boring recital).

Clearly you’re going to leave negative comments on here. Before doing so, we ask you actually read what we write:

“The guy just doesn’t come across as a warm, fuzzy fella. As we’ve said many times, this has nothing to do with winning football games, but if we’re going to sit through these things, we’re going to tell you how entertaining, interesting they are.”

So, yes, we’re grading them — just for kicks — on whether or not you’d enjoy sitting in a room listening to the guy talk. Saban’s smart, he’s got great ideas, and I personally think he’s the best coach in college sports today. But he’s also got a monotone delivery and it’s obvious he doesn’t want to be speaking to a group of reporters.

So, yes, a “warm, fuzzy” speaker IS a better speaker in terms of enjoying a Q&A session. Much better. Robbie Caldwell was fantastic two years ago and everyone in America was talking about his session after the fact.

Saban is a phenomenal coach and leader….. but think his next career will not be as a motivational speaker. I must like boring though. I kind of liked his talk.
