@sojourner You have totally lost me. Once again, can you back up your claim that some Vol fans think Dooley is the next Neyland?

Also, what is a “Hamilton Hire”? Pearl, Dooley, Martin, Raleigh. One was great w/ character flaws, the jury is still out on our football coach, Martin seems solid, and Todd Raleigh is what he is.

there are those in knoxville who still swear that dooley is the second coming of general neyland. i never realized that the color orange could be so blinding. i don’t blame dooley for taking the job anymore than i blame sarah palin for thinking she’s qualified to be president, but like its mentioned on this site, “a man’s got to know his limitations”. dooley is the archetype of the mike hamilton hire. that’s who i blame. if they ever erect a hall of fame for incompetent a.d.s, i guarantee you hammy will lead the first class.

He said this to “them”. I’m sure he spoke to his pillow in this manner but not UT’s coaching staff.
