Prospects who are committed to Southern California are trying to convince Nashville, Tenn., athlete Jalen Ramsey to do the same.
Ramsey is in Beaverton, Ore., this week for The Opening.
So are several USC commits, including quarterback Max Browne, linebacker Michael Hutchings and wide receiver Eldridge Massington. And they’re hoping Ramsey, who visited USC twice in June, will soon commit to the Trojans.
“I think he’s going to be in Cardinal and Gold,” Massington said Thursday during a chat on ESPN.com.
Ramsey, who’s also considering Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Washington, is widely considered to be the top prospect in the state of Tennessee. Massington said Ramsey is the top cornerback he’s faced in the 2013 class.
Hutchings said he also plans to talk to Ramsey about USC. Hutchings said he believes the Trojan commits – USC has 11 for 2013 – are making a strong impact on the recruiting trail.
“I think the commits are starting to take over the recruiting now,” Hutchings said during the ESPN chat. “The coaches tell us who they want and we go out and get the job done.”
