As a HogFan i agree, i don’t like mizzou mainly due to old basketball rivalies, but they are in a similar boat the hogs were in when we joined the sec…Its all about recuiting the best players and the tigers have their work cut out for them! They are goin to have to find some type of recruiting base, maybe texas, okla etc and see what happens

I, for one, am worried about all this focus on lack of respect and constant talk of the Big 12 as an elite Conference. It may be true but it is the past. As they said in the Wizard Of Oz, “we ain’t in Kansas anymore”. I hope Mizzou plays hard but doesn’t go out too fast and furious and burn out in the second half. I’d feel better if we didn’y have to face a Top 10 team as the first conference game … but that is the way it is going to be in the SEC. Let’s just compete and let the chips fall. It will be great fun.

From what I gather, the majority of Georgia fans don’t view Mizzou as a cakewalk at all, especially in light of all the depth issues alluded to above. I do think it’ll be telling for their program when they’re four or five conference games deep into the season, when the weekly pounding that is the SEC schedule begins to take its toll, and the early season adrenaline rush of wanting to prove they belong wears off. I have in-laws that are MU alums so I’m probably more familiar with their program than most Georgia people and I have a great deal of respect for the job Gary Pinkel’s done over there. Over the long run, there’s little doubt they’ll be just fine in the SEC. If Arkansas can do it, there’s no reason Mizzou can’t.
