I notice that at no point did you come into this discussion...

http://www.mrsec.com/2012/08/ut-qb-bray-heading-to-court-for-hot-dogging-on-jet-ski/

...and say anything about me being pro-Tennessee or looking at things through orange glasses.

You came to this site and tried to discredit it (me) by saying I'm a fan of one SEC school over another. Well, tell that to the Tennessee fans who always say I hate them and love someone else.

Fans of all schools see what they want to see: "The media hates my school, loves everyone else." But 99% of the time, the bias is in the eye of the beholder.

This is nonsense.

Last Friday, on a Knoxville radio show, a caller made point after point about how UGA won't win a national title under Richt because of discipline issues. I argued against every point he made and made it clear that UGA has a tougher arrest policy than other schools. (Which is why I found the decision on Smith to be somewhat surprising.)

The week before, I got bombed by Tennessee emailers who didn't like me suggesting on television that Derek Dooley consistently looks the other way when stars get in trouble.

How that makes me anti-Richt or pro-Dooley, I have no idea. You might want to get your ears checked.

As for Spurrier, the only way he came up on CSS was when Nick Cellini asked me why he's now picking on Hugh Freeze. I said, "Because Freeze responded to him."

For the hundredth time, I should probably take note of that fact and just not respond to anyone who posts anything -- even nonsense and lies designed to hurt this site's credibility -- in our comment areas.

I could give two flips about Georgia or Tennessee or any other college team. I'm a pro fan. College sports are filled with cheating coaches, cheating boosters and a small percentage of fans who think everyone is out to get their team. Those fans... I hate. I mean I despise them.

Sadly, it's usually that tiny group who go to comment boxes and leave remarks claiming somebody's out to get their team. Well, from dealing with nonsensical fans on both sides of the Georgia-Tennessee divide who claim I "hate" their schools, I've come to realize that I'll win either way when those two teams play this fall -- because one team's small collection of "everybody hates us" fans will be left crying themselves to sleep.

@KnoxvilleDawg

What in the Hell are you talking about?

I took a call on a Knoxville radio show on Friday dogging Richt for not running a disciplined ship... I defended him... on multiple points... against the caller (and most Vol fans listening).

So just, wow.

I wish some the "you love Tennessee" people would get together with the "you hate Tennessee" people and just wipe each other out. Just take each other right off the map and right out of existence.

I could give two flips about Georgia or Tennessee. I cover them both on this website. Period. End of story. Check the background and you'll find "positive" stories and "negative" stories on each.

As for doing media in Knoxville... if Tennessee has a great year -- I get ratings. If Tennessee is average -- I get ratings. If Tennessee sucks -- I get ratings. My highest ratings ever? Right after Tennessee's loss to Kentucky last year. So yeah, I really boo-hoo if Tennessee loses.

I just got a pile of emails from Knoxville people who didn't like me suggesting on television that Derek Dooley repeatedly looks the other way when it comes to his star players' discipline. Orange glasses indeed.

I'm a fan of my wallet. Whether a team wins or loses doesn't impact me a whole heckuva lot. And the same would be true if I could up and move to Charleston or New Orleans tomorrow. I wouldn't suddenly be pro-Carolina or pro-LSU.

Hell, I've lived in Ohio and North Carolina and Kentucky for that matter... yet I wasn't pulling for OSU (though some people claim I'm a Buckeye fan), UNC, or Kentucky (though some people claim I'm a UK fan).

As for being "so critical" of Richt and Spurrier on CSS -- that's ridiculous, too. The only thing that came up on CSS last week was a question as to why "Steve Spurrier picks on Hugh Freeze." I answered, because Freeze responded to him. That was it. Big criticism.

Of course, if you listened to a radio show and actually mistook my DEFENDING Richt against a caller's charges as me ATTACKING Richt, then I think your ability to comprehend what you read or hear has already proven to be pretty poor.

This site's on its fifth year because unlike every other SEC site out there, there are no fans doing the writing here. We don't troll for pageviews by ending every article with a shot at how stupid some fans are... or how great Team X is.

When I start doing a site about the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Columbus Blue Jackets or Liverpool FC... then you can call me a homer.

Until then, just start paying attention to all the "you hate my Vols" comments that pop up any time I point out some stupid move or stupid statement emanating from Knoxville. You'll notice they read just as childishly as the one you just posted above.

Good points. I disagree that Coach Richt was looking for loopholes & trying to have it both ways. If you look at his record of dealing with players over the last 10 years,he has been consistent. I listen to you on Fridays & watch your show on Sundays. I was surprised that you were so critical of CMR & Coach Spurrier (CSS well deserved) but looked at Coach Dooley through Orange colored glasses. If there has been a coach tougher in college currently please let me know. By the way, love your website. Check it out several times daily

I did read the whole story. And I read the stories written in March, too. They all included the fact that Smith was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession. Key word: possession. Apparently, it's you who need to read the whole story.

Smith wasn't arrested for failing a drug test or for smoking pot in Alabama or anywhere else. He was arrested for marijuana possession. So whether he passed or failed a drug test after the fact doesn't have a darn thing to do with that possession charge.

Matter of fact, if he were innocent of the possession charge, it's interesting that he would enter pre-trial diversion rather than cry out, "I'm innocent, I had no weed!"

It's also interesting how you pick and choose the facts you like.

If you had taken the time to check the complete story, you would know that Brandon Smith was stopped in Ala. He immediately came back to Athens, was tested, came back negative. He was tested by court, came back negative. Getting stopped in Ala. for a faulty tail light will not get you suspended, even by UGA. Vandalism of someone's car, on the other hand would,
