Louisville Whips Kentucky; Has Series Hurt The Cats?

The Cardinals ran over the Wildcats 32-14 as the defense let Joker Phillips’ team down.

Louisville was in sync as Kentucky just sinks.

Phillips: “You can’t give up 76 yards on four-plus drives.  You can’t do that, and we are better than that on defense.”

D-coordinator Rick Minter: “It’s demoralizing and unacceptable, especially when a team can do that running the ball.”  (UK gave up 219 rushing yards.)

Offensive coordinator Randy Sanders hopes QB Maxwell Smith “proved something to all the UK fans” with his excellent 35-0f-50 passing performance.

Has the Kentucky/Louisville rivalry helped or hurt the Cats?

As usual, John Pennington gets something as simple as a coach's name wrong. Do you even read the articles you link to?

As usual, I work all day on a holiday to bring free information to those who want it and there are still some folks who can't accept that writing as many words in a day as I do... that there are going to be incorrect names or misspelled words on occasion.  In this case, I combined current UK D-coordinator Rick Minter's name with previous UK D-coordinator Steve Brown's name.  That has nothing to do with reading the article, it's about typing a million miles an hour for an unappreciative bum like you.

I'd like for any one of the comment box weasels who come here to complain about typos to just TRY to post as many stories as I do in a day without making their fair share of mistakes.  While at the same time running a business, doing radio, doing CSS, answering reader emails, and dealing with ugly posts like this.

Anonymous guys like mac_b_from_tn would find that what we do here is a heck of a lot more time-consuming and more difficult than they think.  There's a reason The Sporting News called this site "prolific."  We write a ton of stuff, provide a lot of links, and also manage to do it with enough quality that our readership doubles and triples at regular intervals.

Happy Labor Day.

John

@John at MrSEC  @mac_b_from_tn Take a DEEP breath, know we get it, and do something fun....... go have a beer, a chilli dog, kiss the wife, walk the dog, and smile. If you were digging ditches for a living there would be some yocal who would complain they were just long holes in the ground.

Well, the SEC showed just membership alone does not guarantee a first rate team. Kentucky is very tough in a few sports, just wish they would get the formula for football worked out. This game was painful to watch, more so than the Auburn - Clemson match up, for many of the same reasons.
