Southern California commitment Jalen Ramsey took an official visit to Florida this past weekend.
The cornerback from Brentwood Academy in Nashville, Tenn., has been committed to USC since July but has continued to visit other schools. He was in Knoxville on Sept. 15 when Florida beat Tennessee 37-20.
What kind of chance does Florida have of swaying Ramsey from his commitment to USC? It might be strong thanks to the influence of Brentwood quarterback Max Staver, who’s already committed to Florida. Rivals.com analyst Woody Wommack wrote the following:
”There’s no doubt that Staver is trying to sway Ramsey to join him in Florida, and an official visit means that the Gators are at least still somewhat in the conversation for Ramsey. It has been rumored that while USC is still on top, a cross country move may be causing Ramsey and his family to at least take a look at some schools closer to home.”
Ramsey is the nation’s No. 3 cornerback and the top prospect in the state of Tennessee, according to Rivals. And the fact that Florida is off to a strong start (4-0) certainly can’t hurt the Gators’ chance of impressing Ramsey.
