@sojourner44 @sojourner Another stupid cop-out answer. Now give me a list of coaches that are confirmed to be on anybody’s “short list.” How long you think I need to wait for that? Or would you rather I give you a list of coaches alleged to have been offered by Mike Hamilton that were never even contacted by UT! When you see a head coach’s name associated with a job opening it is all purely speculation, and that is another fact, either that or he is positioning for more money like Flummo used to do.

So is this what you toothless hillbillies are doing now, you down to making snarky comments involving General Neyland? The fact of the matter is that neither you nor anybody else has a solution to this alleged dilemma, and if you did you wouldn’t be so stingy with a name. There’s nobody out there that meets the standard of UT fans, not one guy that is willing to move. And at this point we dont even know what we have with Dooley, my conclusion is he’s growing into the job and a better coach than his record shows for reasons I have outlined above which you conveniently ignore.

And here’s another dose of reality for you, the UTAD is losing money, and there is no way the school is going to pay another $5M buyout in FY2013. If Dooley doesn’t perform next year then he’s likely gone, until then you are just barking at at the moon. Sorry.

When Dooley took over at Tech they were a disaster, and by his third year they were in a similar condition as UT, i.e. no seniors. His 2009 squad had 7 total seniors on the roster. SEVEN! The majority of the roster was Freshman and Sophomores. And now Dykes has 30 seniors on this team that you give Dooley no credit for but they are all Dooley’s recruits. So don’t give me this crap about him not leaving the program in better shape than he found it.

Second of all, I could care less what you think because you are obviously very limited in your ability to process simple concepts, like finding a coach 2 weeks before NSD, or how you reload instantaneously after your two predecessors did everything in their power to destroy the program! One more time, 50 scholarship players were MIA when we started fall camp last year from the date Flumster was canned. FIFTY! WTF do you expect in year 3, an SEC championship? We still dont have any depth, our 1′s are solid but there is a steep dropoff to the 2′s, mostly freshmen and sophomores again. I think I’ll just color you stupid, and you still havent given me a name…good luck with that. LOL

please have someone read my post to you and listen carefully. not once did i say i “hate” dooley. it’d be like hating the village idiot (no offense intended). as for whether his buyout is 5 or 7 million dollars, my take is that anything exceeding bus fare or the price of a u-haul is over generous. the rest of my post is absolutely factual. if quoting facts is “hate”, color me guilty.

Besides, he just got a raise and a 7 year contract extension, but I’m sure he’s willing to move to the SEC to get his brains beat out and fired after 3 years. Strong is a decent coach, hardly the proven winner UT fans are demanding. Who else you got? haha

And don’t count your cowbells before they hatch Denny, scheduling is going to make a difference tomorrow night, State hasn’t played anybody…yet.

Yes, Dooley left Tech in much better shape than he left it, and Dykes is winning with recruits and the foundation Dooley laid. Sorry you’re so blinded with hate you cant see that for the fact that it is. And here’s another fact for you, at the start of fall camp last year the program had lost 50 scholly players from the date Flummo was bounced, and that doesn’t include graduating seniors. UT football was a disaster due to Fulmer and Kiffin. Hell there are only 6 players left from Kiffin’s 2009 class fer cryin out loud, but lets blame Dooley, it must be his fault so lets fire his ass then repeat this cycle all over again.

And speaking of examples, you’re an example of why UT fans are considered to be the dumbest football fans in the South. Sorry.

a 4-8 final season is not convincing proof that dooley “…left the program in a lot better shape than he found it.” neither is stringing together 4 or 5 cupcake wins iced with vandy and kentucky. fact: this is his sixth season as a head coach (three in the bush leagues) and he’s still looking for his second winning season. dooley is a case study in athletic director incompetence. hamilton (the word “desperate” was correctly used) couldn’t get the serious coaches to return his calls. so the vols ended up with this stiff. to top it off, he gave him a seven million dollar buyout!!!–dooley! for gawd’s sake! if his name was on anybody’s short list, i’ve yet to hear about it. sour grapes? dykes is 5-0; dooley was 4-8. that’s typical of the doolaid drinkers in k-ville.

Fact, Dooley left the program in a lot better shape than he found it. And I’m pretty sure he knows everybody on the Vols roster. This just sounds like sour grapes to me.
