@sec_fan Gotta agree. The SEC jumped through some real hoops to make this season work, and the line “everybody had to give something up to make it happen” was heard at just about every school. UF WAS NOT HAPPY with having to go to Kyle Field as early as we did to face the Ags, but it was suck it up time. Every SEC program did something this year to make this happen. Every one I listened to on scheduling said the fall out would linger into the 2013 season. Well, its happened. Every program in every other conference knew things have to give, so I’m with you. This sounds like too much protesting about something everybody knew could happen.

I believe was done to accommodate the new SEC schedule. Franklin probably had little choice. This isn’t the first change that had to be made to accommodate conference realignment. If they go to a nine game schedule it will only get worse. As for sending the letter, I am sure the contract would require them to send a letter to cancel it. Vanderbilt’s AD is a lawyer. Seriously they sound like jilted lovers.

A couple of ponts that may be pertinent. There may be a legal requirement that a change has to be completed by a certified letter. Second, many Vandy fans have been wondering for months now if the OSU game would be played. Apparently OSU fans have been talking about who would take the place of the Vandy game for a while now too so I don’t hint this was a surprise at all. I also believe both schools are close to naming the relacements so they must have known about this for a while now. So while I absolutely agree changing isnt great, and I did like the NU games to be continued, I do think these two schools are being overly dramatic. As to changing, well I can see why Vandy needs to do this while we grow the program. This year we have the third toughest schedule according to Sagrin (sp?) so we don’t need to continue that until we get the better recruits for a few more years. Getting to bowls will get us those recruits.
As to Franklin’s demeanor, haven’t you noticed a big change from last year? Did you watch Muschamp and Franklin during that game. Franklin looks pretty cool and calm to me.

I don’t understand the anger. I get that it’s annoying to have to scramble to find another opponent, but isn’t an improving Vandy a pair of dangerous games for Northwestern? I’m not sure the upside with a win against Vandy balances the risk of a losing to them.
