@VolTN No source. Just what I remember hearing at the time although I’ve also heard it was an issue with the assistants. I always thought it was a little strange that Cutcliffe only had one losing season and had just come off of an extremely rare 10 win season the year prior. It didn’t really make sense that the assistants were the problem, but that maybe Cutcliffe had done something that really ticked some higher ups off. I don’t know anything for a fact though.

@AllTideUp Have a source on that? I heard he was told to fire his assistant coaches and he wouldn’t do it so they fired everyone.

If I remember correctly, the officials at Ole Miss became upset with Cutcliffe because he had spoken with Kentucky about their job opening. Interesting.

BTW, I never would have thought Cutcliffe was only 58.

Cutcliffe has just won everywhere he coaches. Any school would be lucky to land him. Ole Miss was stupid to give up on him.
