I actually think people are undervaluing Ole Miss. They are still seen largely as a basement team that has risen only because of others' descendancy. I may be wrong but I think Miss will give Georgia all they want. I believe Arkansas has been playing better as of late but that was masked by an Ole Miss team that is better than they are giiven credit for by most. Time will tell.

@CowbellCruiser

I think the "analysis" is pretty simple. I said MSU's schedule this year was a joke (hat tip for next year's game with Oklahoma State, though). MSU fans peppered my email for weeks saying that I needed to hush about the schedule. I tried to give MSU credit for being a smart, well-coached team and even suggested they'd not lose to Bama by 24. But -- in their big "prove it" game -- State got clobbered.

Analysis: The schedule helped State climb to #11, but it didn't prepare them for Alabama. From Tyler Russell to LaDarius Perkins, State wasn't at Bama's level. Might be in the future, but not now.

More analysis: I shouldn't have bought in at all that beating creampuffs and cupcakes would even help State keep the game close.

On another note, I enjoyed your "analysis" that I'm on the Ole Miss bandwagon.

Here's what I wrote... please point out anything that isn't factual or anything that suggests I'm now "on" their bandwagon:

"0 seconds. That’s how much time was left on the clock when Ole Miss kicker Bryson Rose nailed his game-winning field goal. For the Rebels, it meant back-to-back SEC wins for the first time since 2009. At 5-3, they’re now just one win away from bowl eligibility in a season when most expected them to be the worst team the SEC."

And...

"Last Friday in picking Ole Miss to upset Arkansas, we said the Rebs would need to ride QB Bo Wallace on the ground and through the air just as Texas A&M had beaten the Razorbacks with an over-the-top one-man performance by QB Johnny Manziel. Wallace didn’t go for 500+ yards on the Hogs, but he did account for 316 of UM’s 355 yards of total offense on the day (278 passing, 38 rushing). Starting with 2:09 to play in the then-tied game, Wallace led the Rebels from their own 25 to the Arkansas’ 14. The drive consisted four Wallace completions, one incompletion, a 13-yard Wallace run, and a single one-yard carry by Jeff Scott. Ole Miss “let Bo go.” And so did the Hogs’ defense."

And...

"In fact, State didn’t even give Alabama as a good a game as surprising Ole Miss did."

I don't see much bandwagon jumping there. Just facts.

Thanks for reading,

You're off the "bandwagon" because State had a bad game at the home stadium of the #1 team in the nation. You'll recall Alabama has done this to plenty of teams under Nick Saban. And it's interesting that you seem to be jumping on the Ole Miss bandwagon when the 2 SEC teams they've beaten have two wins. The only reason Ole Miss is surprising is because Bobby Petrino went for a motorcycle ride and Auburn collapsed.

Very disappointing "analysis" from you.
