Hey, bud, where are the victories?
Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace — who bears a striking resemblance to Jeff Spicoli from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” — has just about had his fill of moral victories. In fact, Wallace says the fan support’s nice, but all the talk of the Rebels’ being “almost there” is starting to tick him off.
“I’m sick and tired. We love the support, but I’m sick and tired of people telling us we’re almost there, we’re almost there. It’s starting to make me mad. It’s a fine line, and football is about winning and losing. We lost. So now it’s time to start winning some football games.
We have a great chance to win against Auburn, and hopefully we’ll get rid of that SEC losing streak.”
That SEC losing streak now stretches back 16 games all the way to 2010:
16. 10/6/12 — Texas A&M, 27-30
15. 9/29/12 — Alabama, 14-33
14. 11/26/11 — Mississippi State, 3-31
13. 11/19/11 — LSU, 3-52
12. 11/5/11 — Kentucky, 13-30
11. 10/29/11 — Auburn, 23-41
10. 10/22/11 — Arkansas, 24-29
9. 10/15/11 — Alabama, 7-52
8. 9/24/11 — Georgia, 13-27
7. 9/17/11 — Vanderbilt, 7-30
6. 11/27/10 — Mississippi State, 23-31
5. 11/20/10 — LSU, 36-43
4. 11/13/10 — Tennessee, 14-52
3. 10/30/10 — Auburn, 31-51
2. 10/23/10 — Arkansas, 24-38
1. 10/16/10 — Alabama, 10-23
The last SEC game Ole Miss won? A 42-35 victory over Kentucky on October 2nd, 2010. The last time UM beat an SEC West Division foe? A 25-23 upset of #8 LSU on November 21st, 2009.
