Not sure what you’re referring to. We didn’t say this was a helmet to helmet hit. In fact, we said there would be no suspension because it was NOT helmet to helmet:

“As usual, we’ve asked the folks at the SEC office for a reply, but our guess — and it’s just a guess — is that Reid will not be suspended. Not because of a conspiracy to keep both teams at full strength for a big game, but because Reid appears to have put his shoulder int Evans’ chest. If this were a helmet-related issue, it might be a questionable call.”

Let’s get Saban’s opinion. I watched the game in Houston…crowd 80/20 Aggies/LSU (i’m an ag)…and I think the general consensus was that it was late hit, and a bit of an acting job as well. Also, this was a game called by receivers/corners. lots of late flags after tears. lots.

My problem with the hit is that it came so late! That is the kind of play that deserves a suspension. Bang-bang plays are different. If he doesn’t get a suspension; who should?
