Gruden had to make a statement that he was not interested in the Vol job because the rumor would not die. Gruden making that statement is not like Saban making that statement when in Miami. Saban was a coach, and was coaching a team. Gruden is on TV, but is not coaching a team. He would not be upsetting a team by claiming interest or talking. Which I am sure that Hart and Gruden did talk in some capacity. Gruden, at this point, is not interested in coaching TN. Time to actually talk with coaches that are interested in coaching here. The list should be long.

While not my top choice (Gary Patterson), I have a gut feeling that Fisher will end up at UT. If so, I would not be all that much disappointed because I  think Fisher would do a pretty good job.
I can’t imagine that Dave Hart has been sitting on his hands the past couple of weeks and not putting out feelers to several coaches, and Fisher would have to be on his short list.
