On the USC DL topic, however, I too felt that coach Ward stepped over the line with the “more than football” comment. Brad Lawing has been an assistant at USC for nearly 20 years, so I don’t think he owes anyone an explanation if he wants to leave, and if he does want to explain it, he doesn’t need his boss to do it. In the past few years, Lawing has done a great job of coaching what has been one of the league’s premier d-lines. And it goes well beyond Clowney.

I like the fact that football is most constrained to Sat and Sun. It means I get to watch almost all the games I want to while not having to blow off work or other obligations. By the end of this season I was at the point of football exhaustion from it being almost every night now. @jameskeith really man? Shameful is a little over the line don’t you think? How many times has this site ever blown off blown off even a minor story?

@JamesKeith Geez, who pissed in your Cheerios? Regarding the schedule, if Georgia has any kind of contractual authority to veto changes, then I completely agree that it would make zero sense to give yourself a short week before South Carolina.
