Auburn scored a big recruiting win this weekend when defensive end Carl Lawson confirmed his plan to sign with the Tigers on Wednesday.
Lawson, who has been committed to Auburn since March, had shown interest in Tennessee and Clemson. Lawson announced the end of his recruitment via twitter.
“This will successfully end my recruitment I am an Auburn Tiger. No questions will be answered no calls will be accepted.”
Lawson, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 2 defensive end by ESPN RecruitingNation, is one of several highly-touted prospects being recruited by Auburn. The Tigers remain in the running for offensive lineman Montravious Adams from Vienna, Ga., cornerback Mackensie Alexander from Immokalee, Fla., and linebacker Reuben Foster from Auburn, Ala., among others.
