If you listen to the comment, Mayock wasn’t insulting A&M’s line. He was saying that Manziel was able to make bad plays smell better when protection did break down. And as good as A&M’s line was there were blown blocking assignments on occasion. No line is perfect.

I tried to make that clear by writing “when Manziel’s line failed to protect him.”

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this article. Guess he doesn’t realize Joeckel is from A&M and that he just might be the overall #1 pick. And, Matthews is gonna be a high 1st round pick next year. I think he just wanted to make a cute little statement.

Swope had two catches in the Bama game that should go down in A&M lore. I don’t recall A&M being a school that historically produces great receivers, but that guy can catch a ball under pressure, and since Aggies are always looking for something to put down in school lore, those fit the bill IMHO.

Maybe Mayock doesn’t follow college football, but that “stinky” o-line had two potential first round draft picks on it – and possibly the #1 overall pick. I don’t mean to take away from what Manziel did – he was phenomenal, but that A&M o-line was far from “stinky.” Swope and Michael are NFL caliber players as well… this was/is a very talented A&M team. It’s going to be very tough for my MSU Dawgs to go into college station and come out with a win next fall.
