By the way, I hope DeLost is enjoying the fact that Mizzou took the Big 12′s second largest TV market with it to the SEC while aTm gave the SEC a major TV foothold on Dodds’ home turf. Texass arrogance in allowing those schools to leave has hurt the B12 big time. So let’s add it up: B12 loses its second and third largest TV markets in Missouri and Colorado. SEC has to start sharing the huge Texas makret with the SEC. B12 also loses Nebraska’s tiny TV market but with it loses a team with a huge regional if not national following. What does the B12 pick up in TV markets: West Freakin’ Virginia. TCU adds nothing — absolutely nothing — to the TV markets. SEC wins big time. B12 loses big time.

            When the facts don’t support a statement like this, I usually consider the speaker an arrogant blow-hard.

            Here are the facts:

            That makes you an arrogant blow-hard. Your bad years are just bad years, even by Missouri standards. That is especially true given the fact that your budget is $134 million (USA Today) and lowly Missouri’s is $54 million (Columbia Business Times). $80 million can only buy you one win in major men’s sports? Wow! What an idiot. Keep your Big 12 minus two, we will enjoy the parity and honesty of the SEC.

Dodds is a dweeb. Mizzou kicked their arses in almost every sport last year. DeLost thought Mizzou would never leave no matter how badly it was treated. He was dead wrong. And totally surprised.

@SECHog3 Counting Arkansas, Nebraska, T A&M, and Mizzou. Colorado left because they never did fit in with the Big 8. WIth MU & TA&M going to the SEC, the SEC has more AAU schools than the Big xii. Look forward to you in Columbia. You can find me at Flat Branch.

Okay, I’m a fan of Spurrier. Stebe makes some of the dumbest, most colorful, funny, prescient and hilariously out of place comments in college ball. He really pisses people off, and then they just laugh and go, “That’s Steve”. I mean, what would a pre season be without Steve poking fun at Georgia (at least I assume he’s poking fun).

But DeLoss seems to have a complex that requires him to bad mouth other programs as a way of elevating his. And this is the guy who pretty much called the shots in the BigXII before MU and A&M’s departure? Every team in the Big XII should send those two schools athletic departments an anuual thank you card for forcing this guys institution to give some up to the rest of the conference.

The SEC has its problems, but we don’t have DeLoss……

@Andy1234 Big hat, no cattle…pretty much spells out Dodds. He “leaked” to Bohl’s he could land Notre Dame…ahh, no dice. He is very tender about Alden calling his bluff, giving Texas one last chance to be a good conference leader and then when Dodds tried to browbeat them into accepting less, telling Dodds hell no. Mike isn’t a native Missourian, but he learned quickly, when dealing with oily shucksters like “the loss” Dodds, to simply say “…Show Me!”

Pretty dumb comment by dodds.
Top 3 out of the last 6 seasons for Mizzou
12-2 10-3 10-4
Bottom 3 out of the last 6 seasons for Texas
5-7 8-5 9-4
And in Basketbal Mizzou has been significantly better than Texas for a while now.
In baseball Mizzou won the series with Texas last year and won the Big 12 title.
So I’m not sure what sport that would be true in. Not Softball, Mizzou has been above Texas there for a few years. Women’s soccer has been pretty even. Maybe tennis? Track and field? And this is considering UT’s budget is twice the size of Mizzou’s.

Five counting Arkansas in 1992. All elements considered, TCU is nowhere near the caliber of the teams that left the BigXII, They just expanded their stadium to 50,000. Mizzou’s current sports complex enhancements are far more impressive. Also, the SEC visitor money generated for the school (and the town) will help pay for it. Bottom line, the SEC’s “get” of Missouri is far superior to the Big XII’s “get” of TCU.

I personally can’t wait til we can make an Arkansas away game up in Columbia.

The problem is going to be the rivals that get played already that weekend. Alabama plays Auburn & LSU-Arkansas. A&M-South Carolina would be a possibility, but it would be a better watch than Texas-TCU. Or whoever they played this year.

Mr. Deloss-A lot of good Missourian died at the Alamo freeing your state from Mexican oppression giving you the right to say dumb things. We will gladly come down dig them up and bring them home.

PS. Last time you were in Columbia, your football team lost.

@XEN610 I would like to see the SEC swing a deal with CBS to put an A&M home game with LSU or Alabama on Thanksgiving night every year. You think that might outdraw the inevitable Texas game with one of the Little 8 of the Big 12? It’s time to force Texas to join the emerging market for college football and leave behind the safe confines of the quasi-major conference that it controls.

And people wonder why we left? Thanks to the SEC once again for making us feel welcome and part of the family. I remember the Georgia fans at our first SEC football telling how we helped with the academic profile and were impressed with campus. The only school that wanted to be back in a conference with Texas was TCU-at least four schools have bolted from Texas and never looked back.
